I also attending this program since it sounded like it was about edgy new technology. It was more about planning and implementing change around technology. The digital media lab is gorgeous but they didn't really demonstrate much of a need - just thought it up once a big money donor showed up. As the director said, they now face the prospect of sustaining the lab and she hopes to gather success stories to show potential donors. As we know, hope is not a plan, but there is certainly potential at this impressive and cutting edge public library space.
